Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj singh Chouhan said on Thursday he was feeling relieved after the Supreme Court’s decision to hand over the probe in the Vyapam scam to the CBI, and wanted the truth to come out.
He told reporters here: “Now I am feeling relieved. The truth in this case should come out in the open.”
The chief minister who reached here from Delhi said: “The high court constituted SIT was monitoring the probe by the Special Task Force. But an impression was being created across the country that Madhya Pradesh had become a land of murders.”
He said: “The allegations being leveled by the Congress were disturbing. Therefore, I approached the high court for a CBI probe into the case.”
“Now the Supreme Court has handed over the probe to the CBI. I welcome the decision,” he said.
