New Delhi: The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of the Delhi government on Saturday released a department-wise breakup of the 35 officials it has arrested on graft charges.
Among those arrested, 12 were from the excise department, nine belonged to the Delhi Jal Board, seven from the education department, three from Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee, two from Municipal Corporation of Delhi and one each from Public Works Department and Delhi Police, said a statement by the ACB.
The ACB had claimed it arrested 35 officials and suspended another 152 since the anti-corruption helpline was relaunched two months ago, following which the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) challenged the government to give the details.
“The ACB takes exception to the confusion being deliberately spread by vested interests about its anti-corruption drive. The ACB has been providing details of arrests made by it in cases of corruption on a regular basis,” the statement said.
