Jaipur: This historic Pink City is all geared up to host the two-day 24th general session of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) starting here on Saturday, March 21.
The AIMPLB meeting is being held at a time when Muslims have a feeling in general that they are being targeted by the new dispensation of Hindutva forces at the Centre and at many states, including Rajasthan, through some uncalled for controversial issues such as ‘Ghar Wapsi’ and ‘Love Jehad’.
Precisely for such reasons, the controversial issue of ‘Ghar Wapsi’ has been included in the agenda of the meeting of the AIMPLB. According to AIMLPB general secretary Maulana Nizamuddin, who termed the ‘Ghar Wapsi’ campaign as a propaganda to brow beat the Muslim community, “The issue will be discussed in detail at the meeting wherein ways and means would be chalked out as how to combat it with delegates from all over the country.”
On the first day on Saturday at the inaugural session, the highlight will be the presidential address by AIMPLB chief Maulana Syed Mohammad Rabey Hasani Nadvi. As per agenda, thereafter, a discussion would be held on the conspiracy being spun to deny religious identities to minorities and attack on the safeguard of their right to education as enshrined in the Indian Constitution. The issue of ‘Ghar Wapsi’ on the agenda would be taken up the next day, on March 22.
The 24th general session of the AIMPLB is being held in the pink city for the second time in the seminary Jamea-Tul-Hidaya. The first was held in 1992. The well-known seminary headed by Maulana Mohammad Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi, who is the rector of Jamea-Tul-Hidaya, is hosting the AIMPLB meet. He is also the convenor and president of the organising committee of the meet.
