Institute of Objective Studies felicitates Jamia vice chancellor

New Delhi: The Institute of Objective Studies (IOS), New Delhi has felicitated Professor Talat Ahmad, vice chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia; Padmashri Professor N R Madhava Menon, chancellor, Guru Ghasidas Central University, Chhattisgarh and Professor Faizan Mustafa, vice chancellor, NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.

The felicitation event was held here on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the India Islamic Culture Centre, a release from Jamia’s media coordinator said.

Professor Ahmad, in his address, said that his contribution as a researcher in the field of Earth Sciences may be of some use but he regards the passing on of that research to his students as even more useful. “In other words, I have always regarded the role as a teacher and now as a leader of an institution like Jamia Millia Islamia very seriously and of great value and worth,” he said.

Justice Madan B Lokur, judge, Supreme Court of India, who was the chief guest on the occasion, expressed his delight at being given the opportunity to felicitate and honour Professor Talat Ahmad and praised him for taking Jamia to new heights of success. He added that he has high hopes from Professor Ahmad and that, under his leadership Jamia Millia Islamia will soon cross even greater frontiers of academic and social excellence, the release added.
