Manappat Foundation, AMU aim to uplift marginalised communities of UP through Vision 2040

Aligarh: Manappat Foundation (MF), in association with Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), is embarking on Vision 2040, a project aimed at uplifting the marginalised communities of Uttar Pradesh.

The aim of ‘Vision 20140 is to adopt 60 villages in the 10 most backward districts of Uttar Pradesh and apply its Comprehensive Development Model (CDM) under the framework of health, education, economic empowerment and socio-cultural reforms.



As part of the project, MF organised a workshop at the India Islamic Cultural Centre on October 3, which saw Ameer Ahmed, Chairman and MD of Manappat Group outline their strategy for Vision 2040. Eminent thinkers like Dr. Abu Saleh Shariff, Chief Scholar, United States India Policy Institute, P A Inamdar from Pune, Sirajuddin Qureishi of Hind Group and Lt Gen Zameeruddin Shah (Retd), Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, were keynote speakers.

In the follow up to this event, a soft launch was organised at Mirzapur village of Aligarh District in association with AMU on October 16, Friday on the eve of its founder Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s birth anniversary.

AMU and MF, which have jointly adopted the village of Mirzapur, are applying the CDM in the village. As part of this initiative, a health camp was organised by AMU Medical College team along with a financial inclusion awareness programme supported by Security Exchange Board of India (Sebi). The exercise also conducted a situational analysis of the village by MF volunteers and students of AMU in order to understand its needs and problems.
