New Delhi: A faculty member of Jamia Millia Islamia, Dr. Aurangzeb Khurram Hafiz, at the Department of Physics has become the National Champion by securing top Position at recently concluded National Benchpress Powerlifting Championships held at Rait, Himachal Pradesh, March 26-31, 2016.
He is also Hony. Deputy Director, Games & Sports at Jamia Millia Islamia.
He won two Gold medals in the Open and Master – I category of 120 kg Body weight class. He secured first position at the National Benchpress Powerlifting Championship and Federation Cup.
This is the third time in the last four years that he has been named the National Champion for 120 kg Body wt. Class. He was runner-up for the same in 2014.
