The demonetisation move may have led to over 100 deaths and huge discomfort for a majority of the people, but it is becoming increasingly clear that the BJP is facing no such issues.
A few weeks after reports emerged that they party had been purchasing land in Bihar and UP, the BJP has now again spent a sizeable amount to purchase motorcycles. And no, we are not talking about a dozen: 1,650 bikes, in fact, post demonetisation for Uttar Pradesh by BJP.
The job entrusted to the these bikes will be to deliver BJP’s agenda and failure of Samajwadi Party government to the people in every nook and corner of the state.
As per strategy, the exercise will be known as Kamal Sandesh Abhiyan. Every assembly segment will get four bikes. Each bike will be allotted to two workers of BJP. One of them will be full time worker while other will be vistarak. In two months time it is planned to reach 3.50 crore people. Everyday one bike will reach out to at least 300 houses.
The bike riders will be provided Akansha Patra in which they will take feedback from the people about their expectations from the government. They will also have a charge sheet of SP and previous BSP regime which will focus on law and order, corruption and ‘goonda gardi’ issues. They will distribute it among people. The bikes will also have a mike through which the worker will read aloud the Kamal Sandesh of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sources informed that one bike cost is around Rs 37,000 and the registration charges is Rs 2,700.
As per reports in Gorakhpur region 190 bikes were registered with transport department in the first week of December. State BJP office however claimed that the bikes have been purchased from party’s own funds.
