New Delhi: BJP president Amit Shah on Sunday filed his nomination paper here for the presidency of the party, BJP sources said.
His name has been proposed by some 20 leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
The election process is under way at the BJP headquarters. There are no known contenders for the post apart from Shah, who took charge of the BJP after it swept the Lok Sabha polls in 2014.
If there is no other contestant, Shah will be declared elected on Sunday afternoon for a three-year term.
