California: IMRC (Indian Muslim Relief and Charities) is organizing a two- week youth volunteer trip to India. As part of the trip volunteers will spend time learning about Islam in India along with various IMRC’s projects related to health care, education and water.
The trip, the dates of which will be announced soon, will also include a visit to the orphanages and Challenger International School (CIS) near Hyderabad, Jahangirabad Institute of Technology (JIT) near Lucknow and the Indo-US Hospital. The volunteer will also do weekend excursions to Lucknow, Hyderabad and Kashmir.
“The goal of the trip is to instill a sense of service and charity in our young adults and develop in them a deep appreciation and attachment to our unfortunate Muslim brothers and sisters in India,” says Manzoor Ghori, Executive Director of IMRC.
The program will give volunteers the opportunity to learn about their roots and culture while gaining life-long experiences that they can bring back from the trip knowing that they have made an impact on someone’s life.
The cost of two-week trip is $2000 per person and is open for men and women in the age group of 16-30.
IMRC works closely with local NGOs in India and partner with many organizations providing volunteers meaningful work at the grassroots level where it is much needed.
