Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind demands judicial enquiry into the Bhopal encounter

By TCN News

Maulana Mahmood Madani, General Secretary of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind expressed concern and anger over the Bhopal encounter and said that the video clips, circumstances of the encounter and other facts substantiate that it was well-staged fake encounter.

Madani demanded an independent judicial enquiry which follows harsh punishment for those who are involved in it.

Madani, who was fighting cases of these slain youths in court, said the investigative agencies of this country indulge in fake encounter to cover up their own failure. He cited his counsel’s opinion that ATS failed to submit any key evidence against these accused within over many years.

“The two videos came to the public reveal that these armless youths have been shot from a point blank,” he added.

Madani also raised doubts that how they fled away from the central jail which is fortified by armed forces and equipped with modern weapons. It is to be noted that the central jail of Bhopal is an ISO 9001 centre. Then, how did these youths scale the all three walls without any security alarm and without coming in contact with live wire on the walls?

Madani also condemned the contradictory statements of the State Home Minister and said that he should not cover up the crime of the state police. He urged him to face the facts that how these youths took possession of arms and ammunitions and how can police force in the world go into an encounter, with mobile phones shooting them “in action” and how so many villagers were present over the site without cordon-off.

Madani also expressed his pain at some elements trying to make light of this sensitive issue by branding those killed as terrorists and said that we are a country that follows a legal system which believe in principle of law that no accused should be pronounced guilty until convicted.

He added that since Jamiat was fighting legal case of these youths, it will not remain silent but reveal the facts of the matter before court of law.
