Ummar Muhammad and Tahir Khan – again cattle traders – were transporting cows from Mewat in Haryana to Bharatpur in Rajasthan, when they were stopped in the Fahari village near Alwar district.

Landed in scuffle with the cow vigilantes, who stopped the traders, Ummar Muhammad died on the spot after facing pistol firing from the vigilantes. Moreover, Tahir Khan is battling for his life in a private hospital in the close vicinity.

Ummar’s dead body has been kept in Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Alwar. The officials have denied saying anything on the matter, but have nodded to the fact the Ummar died because of the bullet injuries.

Reportedly, members of Meo community – to which Ummar and Tahir belonged – have launched a protest demanding arrest and high level probe into the matter.

The community members have also accused police of accompanying the attackers. However, there is no FIR yet in the matter.

This is the same region where 55-year-old Pehlu Khan was thrashed to death by cow vigilantes in April this year, resulting into a nationwide outrage.

In last month of October, police snatched around 51 cows from a Muslim family of Alwar after Hindutva groups launched a protest on the pretext of that the family kept cows to slaughter.

When TwoCircles.net tried to reach Superintendent of Police and Additional Superintendent of Police at Alwar on phone, their numbers remained unresponsive.
