Iran: Cooperation with IAEA Serious, Sincere

By Prensa Latina,

Tehran : Iranian Foreign Minister, Manouchehr Mottaki, on Sunday said his country’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is serious and sincere, respectful of national principles and sovereignty.

“Iran’s cooperation with IAEA is in line with the governing rules and regulations of the agency,” Mottaki told reporters-

According to the Iranian official, Tehran has no information on details of the new report which is to be presented by the chief of the UN nuclear watchdog Mohamed ElBaradei.

According to Mottaki, the implementation of the so-called Modality Plan is regarded as the peak of such cooperation.

After asserting that Iran is in permanent contact with Group 5+1, made of the five UN Security Council permanent members plus Germany, he stated that Saeed Jalili, secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), and Javier Solana, the EU foreign policy chief, have been continuing constructive talks over the country’s nuclear standoff.

Mottaki defended Iran’s right to develop a nuclear programme with peaceful purposes and rejected pressure and sanctions by countries like the United States and Great Britain.
