New Delhi : India’s teen talent Rashid Khan will head a strong Asian challenge which will also include Rahul Bakshi for the Faldo Series Grand Final in Brazil at the Costa do Sauipe Golf Resort Oct 25-31.
A 17-year-old from Delhi, Rashid received the invite from European Ryder Cup captain Nick Faldo following his victory in the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final at China’s Mission Hills Golf Club in December. Also heading to the Bahia region on the northern coast of Brazil will be Rashid’s compatriot and Faldo Series Asia boys’ under-18 champion, Bakshi.
Besides spending time with the six-time Major winner, the Indian duo will be competing against 75 finalists, narrowed down from more than 30 Faldo Series championships across Britain, Europe and South America.
With previous winners including Nick Dougherty, Oliver Fisher and Kiran Matharu, it will be the first time the Faldo Series Grand Final, an R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking event, has been held outside Britain.
