Islamabad : The death toll in Friday’s suiciide explosion, targeting a huge tribal Jirga in a Pakistani tribal agency, has crossed 70 while several wounded are still said to be in critical condition.
Tribal sources told KUNA that the number of killed persons has increased to more than 70. They said near 200 tribesmen were wounded in the suicide explosion that took place while a tribal Jirga was in progress.
Sources said several of the wounded were still in critical condition and fear further rise in the death toll.
A suicide bomber exploded in explosive-laden vehicle while a tribal Jirga was in progress to take decision about those providing refugee to foreign militants.
Near 1000 tribesmen were taking part in the Jirga.
