New Delhi: In order to form a consensus among Muslim organizations, leaders and like-minded political parties so that Muslim votes are not wasted in the coming assembly and Lok Sabha elections, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) has decided to hold a political convention in Delhi on November 2.
In the wake of indiscriminate arrest of Muslim youths following bombings and biased probes thereof and spreading communal violence in the country particularly in states where Congress is in power, Muslims in general have lost faith in the Congress, said Mujtaba Farooque, JIH secretary for political affairs talking to TwoCircles.net.
So there is a need to form a consensus among Muslim organizations and leaders so that Muslim vote does not get wasted.
He, however, admitted that the Enemy No. 1 is BJP and to keep it at bay will be the first priority and in that context regional political parties will gain much significance, he said.
JIH is going to invite all Muslim organizations, leaders and other parties to the convention.
