Lagos : India’s Isha Lakhani and Ankita Bhambri sailed into the quarter-finals even as Rushmi Chakravarthi bowed out of the $25,000 ITF event here.
While third-seeded Isha outclassed Hungarian Palma Kiraly 6-2, 6-4, Ankita made her way by default when her opponent Surina De Beer from South Africa retired hurt while trailing 0-5 in the first set.
Rushmi, a veteran on the circuit, though faltered against the sixth-seeded Israeli Julia Glushko 1-6, 6-4, 3-6.
In the doubles, third-seeded Bhambri sisters — Ankita and Sanaa — stormed into the semi-finals with a 6-4, 6-3 win over South African Lisa Marshall and Italian Vivienne Vierin.
