Two Palestinian activists killed in Israel raid on N. Gaza Strip

By KUNA,

Gaza : Two Palestinian activists were killed Saturday in an Israeli air raid on northern Gaza Strip.

Palestinian medical sources said an Israeli military plane fired a missile at a group of activists in Abu Safiya District, northern Gaza Strip, killing one activist immediately.

A second activist succumbed to his wounds just after being evacuated to hospital. Local radio quoted sources as saying that the activists were members of Saladin Brigades, the military wing of the National Resistance Committees.

Meanwhile, the National Resistance Committees, on its website, confirmed that the Israel raid targeted a group of its activists in Abu Safiya.

Media reports identified one of those killed as Abdullah Al-Manayea, adding that the identity of the second person could not be determined at present due to grave mutilation of the corpse.

The raid comes just hours after Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said that the recent Palestinian missile attacks from Gaza were a stark violation of the truce.
