Six killed in an explosion in N.Pakistan

Islamabad : At least six persons were reportedly killed and five others were wounded in an explosion Saturday evening in a northern Pakistani valley, where security forces have been fighting militants since November of last year.

A remote-bomb exploded with a huge bang in the main bazaar of Khawzakhela area in Sawat valley, security sources told KUNA.

They added that the explosion killed at least six persons and wounded about five others.

Furthermore they said that the security forces cordoned off the area and were rushing the wounded to hospitals. They added that security in the area has been beefed up.

It may be mentioned here that the military and paramilitary troopers have been conducting operation against local militants since November last year. They have claimed killing near a thousand militants and arrested over a hundred others.
