Cairo : At least 41 people have been killed and another 12 injured after a bus plunged into an irrigation canal in Egypt, the Egyptian news agency Mena reported on Sunday.
The bus full of passengers was traveling from the southern city of Minya when the accident occurred.
Local officials said the bus swerved to avoid a collision with an oncoming truck.
Road accidents are frequent in Egypt largely due to reckless driving and poor roads.
