It’s not a best kept secret that if any unfortunate incident takes place with the inhabitants of lower strata of our society, then it doesn’t get that required attention by the guardians of civil society which it deserves.
This time the victim of her circumstances is a 14-year-old Muslim girl from Hyderabad. In the absence of her mother who does odd jobs, the local goon along with some of his accomplices kidnapped her and took her to far off Maharashtra, initially to Shirdi and later to Parbhani and was sold to a brothel for 40,000 rupees, but not before physically exploiting her repeatedly for around one month by the gang of goons.
The incident came to notice when Mr Akbar, President of a Hyderabad-based NGO Deccan Union for Civil Rights and Liberties (DUCRL) while traveling to his office heard the scream of a girl. To his shock he saw around 4-5 goons with knives in their hand pulling the girl. He rushed to the spot, pushed the goons around and in great act of bravery rescued the girl. From there in his car he took her to the office of Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT). There in front of Mr Akbar and former local corporater Amjadullah Khan she narrated her horrific tale.

From the brothel in Parbhani district in Maharashtra she was rescued by a non-Muslim NGO group. They took her to the Kotwali police station where a case was registered under section 363, 366A, 342 and 376 of IPC. From there the Kotwali Police transferred the case to Hyderabad police. The case has been lodged in Moghalpura police station, Hyderabad.
The shameful act on part of Moghalpura police was that despite the repeated request from the mother of the missing girl they didn’t lodge a complaint against the local goon, who was made accused by the victim. They only did so after the case got transferred from Maharashtra.
The accused has been arrested but his accomplices are still at large. Some of them are even threatening the girl and his family to withdraw the case against them. Fearing for her life the members of DUCRL are giving shelter to her on rotation basis.
Currently she is undergoing medical treatment free of charge in one of the hospitals run in the city by the NGO Movement for Peace and Justice (wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, Hyderabad).
When this correspondent asked Kaleemuddin, President of JIH, Hyderabad, whether they will be able to provide accommodation to the victimized girl and her 10-year-old brother in one of their hostels? Kaleemuddin said, “he is ready to do that and regarding this he has also spoken to the girl and told her that both her and her brother can be accommodated in Warangal hostel which has separate hostel for boys and girls, but the girl herself is not ready to move out of Hyderabad”.
As per the version of local corporater none of the Muslim organizations have come forward to help this poor needy girl, including the organization mentioned above.
Akbar of DUCRL requested the Millat foundation run by famous Urdu daily Siasat of Hyderabad to provide Rs 25000 as financial help to the victim family. When Twocircles.net spoke to the Editor of Siasat Zayed Ali Khan regarding this, he pleaded ignorance.
According to sources Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor of Siasat, on behalf of Millat Foundation gave the victim a paltry amount of Rs 1500 for medical assistance.
Twocircles.net tried several times to contact Zaheeruddin Khan but to no avail.
