New Delhi : Suspended Congress leader Narayan Rane Wednesday met Defence Minister A.K. Antony, party in-charge for Maharashtra, and said his suspension would be revoked in a few days.
“I have met A.K. Antony and (party chief’s political advisor) Ahmed Patel. Process for revoking the suspension is on and it would be revoked in next 4-5 days,” Rane told reporters.
“I told the party leaders that I want to work for the party like a dedicated soldier,” he added.
Rane had been suspended from the Congress after his outburst against the party leadership when Ashok Chavan was chosen instead of him as Maharashtra chief minister in the aftermath of the Nov 26 Mumbai terrorist attack.
On his differences with former chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Rane said: “It was all due to some misunderstanding and now we have sorted out all the issues.”
Asked if he would contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Rane said: “If the party would ask me to contest then I would.”
