PCB wants ICC to be clear on ICL

By IANS,

Karachi : Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will seek clarification on the status of the Indian Cricket League (ICL) during the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) executive board meeting in Perth Saturday.

PCB chief Izaz Butt will inform the ICC board members of the intense pressure his board is facing to lift the ban on the ICL players from playing for Pakistan.

“So far, PCB is claiming that it has banned the ICL players as per the ICC policy regarding unauthorized leagues,” a board source said.

“However, ICC officials have time and again said that the Council has not banned any player because of ICL links.”

Pakistan has banned 20 of its leading cricketers because of their association with the breakaway ICL.

The ICL cricketers have threatened to take legal recourse, if the PCB did not lift the ban.
