New Delhi : Air traffic at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA)was badly disrupted Monday by the dense fog that engulfed the national capital.
The general visibility at the airport fell to 50 metres early morning, resulting in over a dozen flights being delayed.
“The low visibility procedure was enforced at the airport as visibility was below the required limit for flight operations,” an IGIA official said.
“The visibility improved after 8.30 a.m. and normalcy will be restored later during the day,” the official added.
The minimum temperature Monday was recorded at 9.6 degrees Celsius while the maximum settled at 23.5 degrees.
Met officials have forecast shallow fog in the morning and mainly clear sky during the day.
