New Delhi : A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her Delhi neighbour who lured her with a toffee, the police said Tuesday, adding the accused has been arrested.
The incident, which shocked the national capital, took place Monday evening in Uttam Nagar area of west Delhi.
The accused assaulted the girl when her father was not home and mother was busy in household work, the police said.
“The girl was going to a nearby market when her neighbour Manoj, 24, lured her on pretext of giving a toffee. He took her to his room and raped her,” a police officer said.
“The victim went back home crying and narrated the incident to her mother, who then informed the police. Her medical examination has confirmed the rape. We have registered a case and arrested the accused,” the officer added.
