Hamilton : India ended the first day’s play at 29 without loss after bowling out New Zealand for 279 in the first Test here Wednesday.
At close, openers Virender Sehwag was batting on 22 and Gautam Gambhir on six at the Seddon Park. Earlier, Daniel Vettori (118) and Jesse Ryder (102) helped New Zealand recover from a poor start and get a challenging total on board.
