Bhopal: Indo-US nuclear deal is amongst the rarest issues of which the shrill criticism by political parties – both Opposition as well as the Communist allies of the Congress-led UPA government – must not be dismissed by the nation as the routine political brinkmanship and the acrobatics by some leaders. It is the most serious matter which is directly impinging upon India’s national sovereignty.
The above statement has been issued by Dr. Mustafa Kamal Sherwani,LLD, former president, All India Muslim Forum, and presently, Dean, Faculty of Law and Shariah, Zanzibar University, Zanzibar,Tanzania, in a Press release through e-mail.
Dr. Sherwani said in his statement: “The threat by the United States that the deal would be scrapped if India went for the atomic test not only exposes the utter falsehood of the Prime Minister’s statement in the Parliament, but also makes it abundantly clear that the Indian government has capitulated to the saber-rattling tactics of US Administration.
It is the historic moment when the nation must stand up as one unit to save the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, especially when the Bush Administration is deep in the human blood across the globe, and is intimidating India into becoming an active stooge in promoting its (American) nefarious designs against Iran and the whole Islamic world, the statement stated.
