Chandigarh : Kings XI Punjab skipper Yuvraj Singh says his team is a strong title contender for the second season of Indian Premier League (IPL) in South Africa.
“We have a deeply integrated team that compliments each other’s skills. Teamwork will be of key essence and we look forward to picking up the IPL Championship trophy,” Yuvraj said Saturday.
“South Africa has seen some great crowds who really enjoy their cricket and we promise to take the excitement there to fever pitch,” said Yuvraj.
The Kings XI Punjab team is camping in Port Elizabeth and Yuvraj would be soon joining them.
The team has recently included Yusuf Abdulla – a left arm fast medium bowler – and David Nosworthy, as high performance team manager.
Kings XI Punjab announced nine sponsors for IPL season II and relaunched their website, as also an ultimate “Fan Hunt” who will get a ticket to be with the team in South Africa.
Preity Zinta and Mohit Burman, two of the three co-owners of Kings XI Punjab, were also present at the function along with Yuvraj.
“We have a focused strategy and that is to connect and remain connected with our fans off the field while excelling on the field,” said Burman
Yuvraj and Preity also walked the ramp showcasing the brand new team jersey.
