Baghdad, Aug 19 (DPA) At least 12 Iraqis were killed Sunday and 31 wounded in the mortar shelling of an east Baghdad district, reported Arab broadcaster al-Arabiya.
The attacks occurred near the Shia enclave known as Sadr City, the hotbed of followers of the radical cleric Moqtada al-Sadr.
No further details were yet disclosed. Meanwhile, the wounded were immediately transported to al-Imam Ali hospital in Sadr City.
