New Delhi : US aerospace major Boeing Friday named Vivek Lall vice president of business development for the company's Integrated Defense System (IDS) business in India.
"India is a strategically important defence market for Boeing," said Mark Kronenberg, vice president of IDS Business Development, Asia-Pacific. "Vivek's appointment reflects our strong commitment to build long-term customer and industry partnerships and grow our business opportunities in India."
Lall joined Boeing in 1996 and has held numerous leadership roles in marketing and engineering, including manager in the airplane performance and propulsion group.
"Vivek brings a great deal of experience and market insights gained as managing director of Boeing Commercial Airplanes in India, which will help us address the emerging needs of our military customers," said Anil Shrikhande, vice president and executive lead for IDS India.
Prior to Boeing, Lall worked for Raytheon and with NASA Ames Research Center. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Carleton University in Canada and a Masters of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida.
He also has a doctorate in Aerospace Engineering from Wichita State University in Kansas and an MBA from City University in Washington.
