NCP not bidding for PM post: Praful Patel

By IANS,

New Delhi : The Nationalist Congress Party is not big enough to bid for the post of prime minister, NCP leader Praful Patel said Friday, clearing air on speculation that party chief Sharad Pawar could get the top post.

“The UPA (the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance) is most likely to form the government We (NCP) are not so big to make a bid for the prime ministership,” Patel told the Times Now news chanel.

“It is conventional wisdom that the Congress being the largest party and the largest grouping within the UPA, it is natural that the Congress will have the prime ministership,” he said.
