Baghdad : The death toll in the Baghdad central bicycle market blast earlier Friday climbed to 19, with another 45 wounded, most of whom were youth bike-riders and merchants.
Doctors at Al-Kindi Hospital and Iraqi officers told reporters that 19 Iraqis were killed in the blast, which occurred at 9:00 a.m. (local time) this morning.
Most of the 45 wounded who were admitted to hospital have been treated, they said.
Yesterday, a booby-trapped motorbike blast in a bird market in Sadr city left 69 dead and 165 injured.
