Bhopal : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Tuesday told announced that water from the Narmada river will be supplied to the state capital Bhopal soon.
The assurance followed a question in the state assembly by Congress legislator Arif Aqueel in the wake of an acute water crisis gripping Madhya Pradesh.
Chouhan said the project had been delayed due to a slowdown in the laying of the pipeline. It had to pass through a forested region, while the union forest ministry had delayed giving permission.
“But now the Narmada project will be completed soon,” Chouhan said.
