Kochi: Kabeer, who was caught by the police from airplane in the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, got bail yesterday. The resident of Wayanad in north Kerala was caught as the name Kabeer was there in the lookout notice of the IB. There were also rumours that he had terrorist links. But the police could not prove any charge against him.
Kabeer was arrested by the immigration authorities when he was on board a plane to Kuwait on August 30. The reason for arrest was that his name was there in the lookout notice issued by the IB. But, doubts were there how such a person passed all security checking and boarded the plane. However, stories were cooked up by the media about his terrorist links rather than asking the relevant questions.
Kabeer was reportedly interrogated by the officials of the RAW and IB for 10 hours, but no proof of any terrorist link was found. Still, he was not released even though the police could not find any evidence against the charges put on him.
Kabeer is the youngest son of Syed and Fathima in Wayanad district. He stopped his studies early in his childhood and began taking up jobs to earn a living. When arrested, he was going to Kuwait in search of job.
