Doctors end strike in Rajasthan

Jaipur (India) : Resident doctors in government-run hospitals in Rajasthan Friday ended their strike after they were assured a monthly raise of Rs 2,600 as an extra stipend in their salaries, a state health official said.

About 1,350 resident doctors affiliated to six medical colleges in the state returned on duty Friday morning after four-day strike, the official said.

Medical and health services in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Udaipur, and Kota would pick up by evening, he said.

General Secretary of Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors, Rajvendra Singh Choudhary, told PTI that in Thursday night dialogue with Chief Secretary Kushal Singh and other senior officials it was decided that the DA which was raised recently from 22 to 27 per cent would not be clubbed with the stipend.
