Singapore : Beijing and Singapore have signed four cooperation pacts, including procurement of two pandas from China, to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries next year, a media report said.
Chinese President Hu Jintao and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong witnessed the signing of the agreements here Thursday.
President Hu said China will give a pair of pandas to Singapore to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries next year. The two sides also agreed to undertake joint studies on panda conservation, the China Daily reported.
The two countries also signed a MoU to set up a China Culture Centre in Singapore to promote cultural exchanges. Two other pacts in the area of education were also signed.
