New Delhi: Delhi Police have made elaborate security arrangements to avoid any incident of violence during the annual India International Trade Fair (IITF) beginning in the national capital Saturday.
“Adequate anti-sabotage and anti-terrorist measures are being implemented at parking lots, entry gates and pavilions. Plain clothed special groups will patrol the whole area,” said S.N. Srivastava, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic).
The IITF, Nov 14-27 at Pragati Maidan, will witness a huge rush of people from across the country and Delhi Police are taking all measures to provide foolproof security during the mega event.
“There will be tight security at the venue and cops will be deployed in uniform and plain clothes. Observation towers will be put in place to prevent chain snatching, pick-pocketing, eve-teasing and molestation,” he said.
Special traffic arrangements have been made around the Pragati Maidan to decongest traffic during the fair.
Srivastava said the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) will run special bus services from various locations in the capital and National Capital Region to provide public transport facility to people visiting the fair.
