Thiruvananthapuram: A Colombo-bound Afghan aircraft made an emergency landing at an airport here Sunday evening after it ran out of fuel, airport officials said.
Speaking to IANS, a top airport official who did not wish to be identified said that the aircraft was coming from Afghanistan and was bound for Colombo.
“The aircraft is a small one and it had just five members, including the crew. Since it ran out of fuel it made an emergency landing. Our officers have got in touch with Chennai and after re-fuelling it would leave for Colombo,” the official said.
Details of who the passengers were or the purpose of their visit to Colombo were not available.
