BJP youth wing to launch protest against UPA

By IANS,

Chandigarh : The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), a youth wing of the BJP, Saturday announced it would launch a week-long protest to condemn the “leak” of the Liberhan Commission report on the Babri Masjid demolition.

Amit Thaker, national president of BJYM, said here: “Justice Liberhan has plainly denied leaking any part of the report, which clearly shows that the report was leaked by Home Minister P. Chidambaram himself as a well-charted conspiracy against the BJP.”

As part of their nationwide week-long protest starting Nov 30, Thaker has called his party workers to burn effigies symbolising the UPA government across the country.

“The Liberhan report is a deliberate attempt to divert attention of the common man from the issue of inflation as the UPA has failed to check the rising prices of essential commodities. It is shocking that the investigators chose to solely rely on hearsay (on the Babri probe),” stated Thaker.

“The report is tight-lipped on the role of former prime minister P.V. Narasimha Rao, while at the same time it has falsely indicted former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee (for the demolition),” he pointed out.

The Liberhan Commission report was tabled in parliament on Tuesday. It probed the Babri Masjid demolition by right wing Hindu groups on Dec 6, 1992, which triggered communal clashes in the country.
