Ludhiana : Curfew was relaxed Tuesday in Punjab’s industrial hub Ludhiana as the city and the rest of the state remained normal in the last 24 hours, officials said.
The curfew has been relaxed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The relaxation came after two days of violence Friday and Saturday followed by a full day of curfew Sunday.
People could be seen coming out of their homes and heading for work.
Two separate incidents of violence, one involving migrants going on rampage Friday and then activists of radical Sikh organisations clashing with the police while trying to disrupt the religious conference of a controversial sect leader Saturday, had affected life in this city.
A Punjab shutdown was called Monday by Sikh organisations led by Damdami Taksal to protest the violence.
