New Delhi : The fog may have cleared considerably Monday morning, but train schedules continued to be disrupted since early in the day.
According to Anant Swarup, spokesperson of Northern Railways, as many as 33 trains were behind schedule and eight were cancelled because of the fog Monday morning.
“Eight trains were cancelled and 33 are running late because of the fog today. In addition, three trains departing from Delhi have been rescheduled,” Swarup told IANS.
The three trains which have been rescheduled are the Kashi Vishwanath, Mahananda and the Northeast Express.
In contrast to the fogged-out weekend when several flights were delayed, rescheduled or cancelled, flight operations in the capital were normal Monday.
According to an airport official, the runway visibility Monday morning was a good 2,000 metres. The past two days’ backlog however delayed 16 domestic flights, led to a cancellation of three others and delayed eight international flights, flying to and from Delhi.
