Two killed by suspected Maoists in West Bengal

Kolkata : Suspected Maoists shot dead two men in Muriboni village of West Midnapore district in West Bengal, police said Friday. The killers reportedly accused the victims of being activists of Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and also serving as police informers.

Mintoo Ali and Nirmal Naik were called out of their houses and shot dead Thursday night. Their bodies were found Friday, the police said.

Maoist posters found near the bodies said the duo was “punished” by a “people’s court” for being “CPI-M agents and police informers”.
