Jammu: At least one terrorist was killed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district Sunday after security forces raided their hideout in a jungle. The gun battle between the two sides stretched late into the night.
An army spokesman said that troops raided a hideout of terrorists located deep in the Narole forests in the Mendhar area, 230 km north-east of Jammu, Sunday evening.
One terrorist was killed. His identity is yet to be ascertained.
Security forces were engaged in a gun battle with the remaining terrorists, said to number three to four, the spokesman added.
