Jammu : The Jammu and Kashmir government has approved a hike in the salaries of ministers and legislators and a bill in this regard will be presented in the ongoing budget session of the state legislature.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting in the state’s winter capital Jammu late Tuesday evening, according a ministry official.
The ministers, after the passage of the bill, will get Rs.65,000 and legislators Rs.60,000 per month as against Rs.45,000 and Rs.40,000 presently.
This will be the third salary hike for ministers and legislators since 1996.
