Bangalore: The Campus Front of India has demanded judicial probe into the Batla House encounter and revamp of the police administration as the post-mortem report of Jamia Nagar shootout victims has confirmed the encounter was fake. Campus Front, in its National Committee meeting in Bangalore yesterday, also demanded implementation of Ranganath Mishra Commission report which has recommended 10% reservation for Muslims in education and government job.
“According to the postmortem report, it came to light that the Batla House encounter was fake. Campus Front of India demands the judicial probe in this case and government should revamp the police administration, which is targeting Muslim youths as terrorists in a biased manner,” said Campus Front in its four-point resolution adopted at the end of the National Committee meeting.
The students group has also expressed concerns on the “neo-liberal policies of the UPA government and the continuous assaults on the Indian education system” and demand the UPA government to drop both ‘National Commission for Higher Education and Research Bill, 2010’ and ‘The Foreign Educational Institution (Regulation of Entry and Operation) Bill, 2010.
The Campus Front demanded the Centre and the state governments to withdraw the previous fee hike in Universities, Colleges and Schools.
“We condemn the hesitation of the UPA government in tabling the Justice Ranganath Misra Commission Report in the parliament. The report recommends 15 % reservation for minorities in education and employment and exclusive 10% for Muslim Community. Campus Front of India demands the Centre to table the report in the current parliament session and implement the recommendations,” said Campus Front resolution.
