Kolkata : A man was arrested for shooting dead his wife following a quarrel in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal Monday, police said.
North 24 Parganas Superintendent of Police Rahul Srivastava told IANS that the incident occurred near Bandipur on the Kalyani-Barrackpore Expressway under Khardah police station.
District police sources said that the wife was shot when she was travelling in a rickshaw.
“Irate locals beat up the husband and handed him over to the police,” an official said.
The reason for the quarrel was not yet known, the official added.
