No discrepancy in information shared by IPL teams: Khurshid

By IANS,

New Delhi: The Registrar of Companies (ROC) has found no discrepancy in the information provided to it by the franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Corporate Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid said Wednesday.

“We have collected information in the ROC. In some cases, the companies have been up to date in filings of return, while in some cases, they have not and in those cases, notices have been issued to them,” Khurshid told reporters here.

“Prima facie on this issue, we have found nothing of unusual nature and as we look at it further, we will see if any action is required,” he said, adding that Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians were among those who have filed information.

“But we have not found any mention of sweat equity in these filings.”

The minister said other franchises will file within the deadline, as the registrar has given them a week’s time to furnish the information. He also said that if the finance ministry and other agencies find any discrepancy and contact his ministry, then it was ready to take action.
