Ahmedabad: After Amitabh Bachchan, today was the turn of Sanjay Dutt to hug and shake hands with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Bollywood star Dutt who is from a Congress family though himself close to Samajwadi Party praised Modi in high tone for the development work in the state.
On a friendly trip to Gujarat, Sanjay Dutt paid a visit to the CM’s office, where he warmly hugged Modi and shook hands with him, says a news report of Zee News.
Dutt’s father Sunil Dutt was a veteran Congress leader, and his sister Priya Dutt is also a Congress MP from Mumbi. Dutt’s mother Nargis was a Muslim.
Both were later seen engaged in intense conversation. Also, a powerpoint presentation was made regarding river front project and other projects undertaken by the state government, an official press release said.
Speaking to the media after the meet, Sanjay said, “I have been visiting Gujarat since my childhood days. Many of my friends stay here, and I often come here to visit them. Modi has done fantastic work in Gujarat. There is no denying the fact that the state is seen as an epitome for growth and development in India. It really feels good to be around here and the credit undoubtedly goes to Narendra Modi,” Zee quoted him as saying.
During the meeting, the ‘Munnabhai’ star reportedly suggested that a film city should be set up in the Kutch region, as it is an ideal location for film shootings.
Of late, there have been a few Bollywood stars praising Modi. Just before Dutt was Amitabh Bachchan. Narendra Modi got so overwhelmed by Bachchan’s gesture that he proclaimed him as the ambassador of Gujarat. This honor landed the Big B in controversy with the Congress condemning him for associating with Modi whose role in the 2002 communal riots is under scanner.
