New Delhi : To condemn Israeli forces assault on aid convoy to Gaza, a protest meeting was held Thursday in Delhi.
Under the banner of Shaheed Murtuza Mutahari Society and Idara Tafheem Islam a protest meeting to condemn Israeli forces attack on aid ships which were carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza was held Thursday evening at Husaini Hall Delhi.
Addressing the gathering Chief Guest, Asif Mohd Khan, MLA, Delhi Assembly referring to the ongoing situation in Gaza as the ugliest of the contemporary era, said that Israel has committed massacre of defenseless people by the most complicated weapons.
He condemned the ongoing brutal repression of the Palestinian people by the Israeli forces. “Israel has occupied vast areas of Palestine territory and continues to make incursions into the Gaza strip, violating all international laws”, stated Asif while expressing solidarity with the victims of the brutal attack and oppressed Palestinian people.
Condemning the Israel’s military action, Dr. Hasan Komeli, President Idara Tafheem Islam termed it as “Terrorism of imperialistic powers.” “Israel has the support of the America, which is the bitter enemy of Muslims of the world”.
Komeli appealed the nations of the world to rise against Israel. “All democratic nations in the world, especially the Muslim world, should rise to prevent Israel achieving its goal in Palestine”, he added.
Maulana Syed Jalal Haider Naqvi, President Shaheed Murtuza Mutahari Society, Delhi said: “The horrific brutality of Israel against civilians has shocked the peace-loving people of the world.
While condemning the barbaric attack on aid convoy Jalal demanded that the Manmohan Singh government should immediately snap the diplomatic ties with Israel. “Indian govt should take diplomatic steps along with peace loving countries to see that Israel immediately halts its aggression, he noted.
On the night of May 30, the Israeli armed forces illegally attacked a flotilla of six ships carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza in international waters. At least 15 international activists have been killed and many injured.
About 700 activists from a number of countries are on the six ships. They were aiming to take 10,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Gaza, which has been under relentless siege for almost three years now.
