Ma’dani said that he would file a complaint against the Intelligence Bureau considering the words of the central Minister of State for Home Affairs Muallappally Ramachandran. He said he was expecting a humanitarian approach from the Chief Minister. He added that the situation in Karnataka was more dangerous than in Tamil Nadu and that there were many fake evidences against him in the chargesheet. He was speaking in a press conference at Anvarsseri. Meanwhile the PDP leaders who met the Chief Minister have reportedly requested him to interfere in the matter considering the bad health conditions of Ma’dani.

The anticipatory bail petition was submitted by Ma’dani’s lawyer in the Bengaluru fast track court. Judge Sreekanth Watarvarthi received the petition on file and will consider it today, reportedly. PDP legal cell convener Adv Akbar Ali said that they would approach the Karnataka High Court if the court’s order on the petition went against Ma’dani.

The Bengaluru Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate passed a non-bailable arrest warrant against Ma’dani on Tuesday but the police had not received it till yesterday evening, according to reports. The Magistrate had directed the police to present Ma’dani before the court by 23rd of this month. The police team investigating the Bengaluru blast case submitted the additional chargesheet which named Ma’dani as 31st accused on June 11. However, there are reports that the arrest of Ma’dani might take a few more days. The Karnataka police have to contact the Kerala police and complete several procedures before the arrest.

Meanwhile the PDP leaders who have launched a fasting campaign at Anvarsseri vowed to continue their struggle till Ma’dani gets justice. PDP members reached Anvarsseri in a procession by yesterday noon. The struggle was inaugurated by journalist Bha Surendrababu via mobile phone. He called to make the struggle for the justice of Ma’dani a second struggle for freedom. PDP state vice-chairman Varkkala Raj, Kollam district vice-president Shaji Pathanapuram and Kottayam district vice-president KJ Devasya are fasting now.

In another development, state Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan said that the state was observing the developments related to the arrest warrant against Ma’dani and that the government would do the necessary to avoid any problems. When asked what would be the government’s response to any request for aid from the Karnataka police, he said that the state Home Minister had explained it already. State Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had last day said that the state would cooperate with the Karnataka police if it requested for any aid in the matter.

The Jam’iyyathul Ulema e Hind’s state committee condemned the move to imprison Ma’dani. It asked to put an end to the efforts to jail Ma’dani who has not yet been pronounced as criminal. It also suspected a hidden agenda behind hunting Ma’dani when several terrorists with clear evidence against them are moving around freely. The purity of the justice system should not be impured by arresting Ma’dani on the basis of the words of those accused in the police custody, said a joint statement of the Dakshin Kerala Jam’iyathul Ulema, Jama’ath Federation, Lajnathul Mu’allimeen and KMYF. The leaders of the organisation also urged the state government not to cooperate with the Karnataka police for something that would harm the peaceful atmosphere in the state.

Ma’dani had earlier accused that certain persons in the Intelligence Bureau were moving against him and that naming him in the case was its result. Minister of State for Home Affairs Mullappally Ramachandran had responded to this accusation saying that complaint could be made if there was any problem with the IB. Ma’dani today reportedly said in the press conference that he had sufficient evidence against the involvement of the IB in the case.
