Shab-e-Meiraj celebrated across JK

Srinagar: Meiraj-ul-Alam was celebrated with religious fervor and enthusiasm all across the State.

Big congregations were held at Hazratbal, Jenab Sahib Soura, Kalashpora, Ka’aba Marg, Asar-i-Sharief, Baramulla, Aham Sharief, Bandipora and other places.

People in large numbers offered Isha prayers at shrines, mosques and khanqahs.

Devotees busied themselves in Darood-u-Azkar and speakers threw light on the philosophy of Shab-e-Meiraj throughout the night.

People are blessed a glimpse of holy relics of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) after every prayer.
Despite sudden spurt of rains across the city, people in large numbers reached these places to attend the collective Shab Khawani.

The Government had already eased the curfew restrictions to facilitate free movement of people on this auspicious occasion.

The administration has made elaborate arrangements of electricity, drinking water, sanitation and transport for the facilitation of the devotees to the shrines and Khankahs on this occasion.

The Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda accompanied by Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Naseem Lankar, IGP Kashmir Farooq Ahmed and other senior officers visited Hazaratbal this afternoon and took stock of various arrangements made for devotees visiting the shrine on the auspicious occasion of Miraj-Ul- Alam.
